:O So like the not-so-bad version of my worst fear kinda came true today. LET ME EXPLAIN! It's really not THAT bad.

Yesterday in Ceramics, the teacher showed us how to make slabs and built with them. He demonstrated with the downstairs slab roller because the one in the classroom was malfunctioning, and they operate differently anyway.
Part of our assignement was to prepare some leatherhard slabs for next class.
So I go in to the studio today to work on my stuff, and there's one other girl in the lab, so we get chatting. I decide I really don't want to go roll my slabs downstairs in the small claustrophobic room all alone. So I decide to try and use the upstairs slab roller, which got kinda repaired during the class. I got the other girl, whom I have seem operate this roller, to show me.

This thing, as opposed to normal slab rollers, only roll one way.
There was inattention and lack of communication on both our parts cause i was still arranging the canvas when she started rolling.
So my right index finger got caught in it.
And since this thing DOESN'T ROLL BACK, I had to wrench it out. That stuff is sanded, man.

Needless to say I panicked for a couple of seconds cause THAT HURT and IT DOESN'T ROLL BACK and hkhdka sdahslkskad I NEED THIS FINGER.
Some of the skin has been scrapped of, but apart for that, I think my finger is still structurally sound. It's moving and all.
It's been throbbing ever since tho. I feel no pain, and i have sensation in that finger, but it feels like the circulation isn't great. You know like when you have something wound way too tight over it? Is that normal? :/ I figure it'd bruise and all.

I felt really dizzy and nauseous for a little while after the initial pain subsided, but the other girl stayed with me and got be bandaged and stuff. She was really sweet and feels guilty, and I kinda feel bad cause it's really not her fault. :/ *hugs her*

SO YEAH. MY WORST FEAR IS OF COURSE LOOSING PROPER USAGE OF MY RIGHT HAND. That's why table saws and other woodshop tools scare the hell out of me. At least, it was only a roller. :/ Stupid dangerous unidirectional roller... >_>

But i'm fine. I got more scared than actually hurt... (is there an expression like that in english? I french it's Avoir plus peur que mal.)

I need to stop thinking about what could have happened if my hand had been cuaght furthe dasjd hask dh ok not thinking about that. Shit.

-Went apple picking in the rain. Again.
-Received many well wishes from many people
-Ran around last minute buying stuff
-Became addicted to R4 and Code Geass minigame
-Found Qui&Obi comic anthology. IN FRENCH! 8D *victory dance*
-Consequently failed to cancel my order of Star Wars Omnibus with Astro :(
-Mocked Sympathized with my brother who is suffering from braces.
-Angsted over Gramma's reaction
-Achieved cool Concordia sweater 8D
-Burned all my music on DVD, saved a shitload of fic and ebooks, and loaded the R4
-Reclaimed mom's laptop and had a scare when I thought I deleted all her work files
-Already missing my Mac
-PACKED! >_<

In other news, I MIGHT be getting a part-time teaching job at a summer school/camp starting next week. Its not as great as it sounds though, and i am completely unmotivated by it, not to mention it'll drastically cut my drawing time. I'd have to rush for Otakuthon. D8 But at this point it's still a MIGHT, so we'll see. Anything that gives me this kind of anxiety can't be good. O_O

Truth is, a friend of my Dad's is running the school/camp, and the impression I get is that he mainly means for me to be a general help-out staff, all the while i'll get the 1:00-2:30pm slot to teach kids art-ish things to vary their program. No prior meetings, no intro the the school, no request to go over lesson plans, just two phone calls. Classes are scheduled to start tomorrow.
I CAN HAS ADVANCE WARNING PLZKTHX?? Also, Don't you care at all about meeting me beforehand? YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I LOOK LIKE!
I told him i could start next week if he still wants help, part time 1:00-4:30pm.

Dear Life,

Today, i officially fail at living you.

It starts this morning, when i somehow COMPLETELY FORGET that i planned to meet up with hollyxu at 1pm in Chinatown. My brain didn't register the Saturday part of this day... O-O So i'm going about my business, until 1:30pm when she calls.

At this point i GO CHECK Whompy's page to confirm about the show. I just fail to notice that June 6 =/= Today T__T

So i run out of the house and of course get there late. D8

And since i haven't eaten, i get some food at the bubble tea place(not recommended).
We chat and betsyli joins us some time later. There a lot of oogling at shiny CHisu!macbook~ 8D

I needed to leave at 5pm, so i go pay BUT FORGET THAT I CONSUMED FOOD. I pay for my bubble tea, and when the waiter asks me if there's anything else i shrug and say no (duh, i don't ever get anything other than bubble tea, right?... right?)

Anyway, I'm all excited because i firmly believed that Whompy would be at Indigo at 7pm. I set off to find Amy at her workplace since she isn't answering her phone, get all excited at her, and get my suspicion confirmed that no, she can't come. D8
That's ok, i'll take pictures for her, i figure, and set off to Indigo... to find NO SIGN that there'd be any kind of event. Strange.... So I run to Chapters just to check, and STILL NO SIGN.


At this point I'm calling up acidraiin frantically, since she's the one who got the news to me in the first place. She confirms she sent that text message YESTERDAY, and that we are, in fact, JUNE 7th.

Something scary happened on the way home. These two guys in the same wagon than me were fighting, and one of them suddenly pulls out this huge knife. Thankfully, we were still in the station, so most people quickly got off. The two guys ended up getting off and running upstairs, but one of them had a lot of blood on his neck o.O eeeps~~ WHERE WAS SECURITY WHEN THIS HAPPENED?!! There's usually everywhere ._. except when you need them....
What a scare... >_<

So today, I learned:
1- To be aware of today's date. BEFORE getting excited about upcoming events. They may just have happened yesterday.
2- To not forget when you go out and buy a meal. Because, i mean, YOU HAVE BOUGHT A MEAL, HELLO!
3- That heat might just boiling my brain. I need to do something mentally stimulating, else my brain completely rot.
4- That I have the best, most forgiving friends in the world~ ♥ ;__;

Rant about road trip

I've been to Inner Mongolia these past days. Grasslands are wonderful *_* I didn't want to come back!!>_< The people are really nice too!! We went spent a whole day out in the mountains in the unpredictable weather (2 bouts of sunshine and 3 storms in 1 day). Out there are all field and little villages of earthen houses...>_< It's soo very poor, but very traditionnal *__* We really got to see how people outside of great cities lived...
I wonder how it feels like to grow up in the midst of sheep and cow herds, in field and mountains with only the bare necessity to live for...

Everyone should go to the Inner Mongolian Grasslands once in their lives!!! xOOO go drink milk tea omg...*drool*

I'm soo unsettled these days cause i'm worried i can't get back to canada in time for start of term .___. My plane ticket is for the 22nd, but term starts 21st X___X Because soo many people want to change tickets these days it's really hard to get an earlier ticket...I have to call them all the time to see if someone cancelled. ;____; I really really hope i get a ticket home sooner...I am hurrying to finish shopping so that i can leave on short notice ... I made a LOTS of progress today!!^_^ Just the CDS left to get~ :D
